Director of Tennis
Country Club in Marietta, Georgia is currently searching for a Director of Tennis with at least 5 years experience in a country club setting.

Position Overview:
The Tennis Director reports to the General Manager. He/She is responsible for providing exceptional leadership and operational direction for all aspects of tennis operations including but not limited to junior programs, lessons, special events and clinics. He/she must deliver a world class experience and service to members and their guests, while insuring the policies and best interests of the Club are met and protected. The Tennis Director budgets and implements effective operational policies to meet or exceed budget expectations and achieve departmental goals as established by the General Manager. The responsibility to lead the tennis program from a passionate, creative, supportive, progressive and team focused perspective is of critical importance for long-term success.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for the promotion, coordination and conducting of tennis clinic, special and competitive events and programs in an effort to attract and maintain members’ tennis interests.
• Responsive to members requests and strives to find creative ways to accommodate reasonable requests
• Must believe he/she is in the Happiness Business and in the service philosophy: “the answer is ‘yes’, what is the question?”
• Evaluates and sets appropriate and necessary standards of operation, execution and delivery within the tennis operation; taking ownership for the entire member experience from arrival through departure.
• Learns members’ names and tennis operational requirements and preferences.
• Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
• Enforces all Club rules and regulations governing the use of the Club/facility, its equipment and other property.
• Works cooperatively with other departments to develop combined programs for the membership.
• Ensures proper inspection of the courts/facilities on a daily basis prior to the start of play and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed and the courts are in a safe working order. Quickly reports any maintenance problems to the Facilities manager as well as the General Manager.
• Monitors court usage including special events, clinics and lessons.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Regular and reliable attendance.
• Attends staff and facility meetings
• Participates in the Manager on Duty Schedule
• Evaluates and continue to develop, train and mentor the tennis operations staff.
• Understands the use and benefits of services, products, programs, and activities by participating in regularly scheduled staff meetings and training workshops
• Provides excellent customer service and helps monitor guest feedback through the use of multiple customer care techniques
• Follows up on guest requests and comments reaching out to members on a regular basis
• Helps maintain a monthly inventory of supplies, equipment, and or products
• Writes articles about the facility for the newsletter and website
• Supervises play and ensures proper charging of fees.
• Submits all lessons and/or sales forms to the tennis shop administrator and A&G office on time

• Upholds implemented guest rule policy and collects all guest fees
• Sets clear and concise expectations for every team member in every dining venue and event
• Expected to provide a visible presence in the Tennis Pavilion and on the courts to assist members, guests and employees
• Maintains constant communication between all departments to ensure efficient results
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Experience in promoting and implementing varied program of events, classes and leagues
• United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) Elite Professional in good standing.
• Must have a minimum of five years or more of professional tennis management experience. This experience should have been achieved largely at a respected, full service, club and provide evidence of impactful achievement.
