Head Tennis Professional
Country Club in Basalt, CO is looking for a summer Head Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
Our Club is nestled on 282 acres of rich land on either side of the Roaring Fork River between Basalt and Aspen, Colorado. This par-72, 7,312 yard Jack Nicklaus Signature Course is sculpted along the dramatic contours of the river valley, respect for the land and the fine outdoor tradition of golf is evident in the layout of the 18-hole golf course. The Club is a Private Club located 20 minutes from renowned Aspen, Colorado in the charming town of Basalt. The Club provides a lifestyle for those who seek the purest of golf, fishing, family, health and wellness.

Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing the Summer Rackets Programs
Essential Functions The 40-hour work week consists of approximately:
20 hours/ week teaching clinics
8 hours/ week court/equipment maintenance
8 hours/week administrative/program promotion
Minimum 4 hours/week instructing members

Your responsibilities will be as follows:
• Developing and directing the Club’s tennis and pickle ball programs
• Supervising use of the tennis courts, enforcing court rules and procedures, including scheduling and assigning courts to members and guests
• Charging appropriate court, sales and guest fees and proper tracking of attendees
• Instructing members and guests
• Devoting time to play with Club members
• Encouraging players and promoting the game
• Promoting growth of the game through men’s, ladies’ and mixed doubles tournaments and clinics
• Overseeing the Kids Tennis Program, assuring campers are properly supervised at all times, learning the game while having fun
• Maintaining the tennis courts, in coordination with the Activity Manager, advising maintenance personnel on upkeep and repair of the tennis courts, nets and surrounding fences, and reporting any damage or needed repairs to the Director of Building Maintenance
• Having the courts ready for play each day by the daily start time of 8:30 am, having each court brushed, lines cleaned, all debris removed and ensuring that the tennis nets are taut and ready for play. Then, depending on the day’s activities and programs, by setting out tennis balls, tennis baskets and the tennis ball machine
• Cleaning of the tennis lounge chairs and tables and adequately stock, on an ongoing basis, towels for member use as well as water and cups.
• Be current in First Aide and CPR. Knowledge of all emergency procedures and the ability to assist and/or respond accordingly
• Respond to emails and phone calls from members regarding the tennis programs and oversee the Google Doc. Regarding court times, etc.
• Communicate with other departments as necessary
Supervisory Responsibilities: Tennis Assistant/ Kids Camp Support

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); four years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills: Excellent communication skills. Ability to communicate with members in a friendly and enthusiastic manner. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: USTA Certification Preferred Other Skills and Abilities:

Physical Demands Seeing – Must be able to see well enough to read reports and use a computer. Hearing – Must be able to hear well enough to communicate on the phone and in person. Standing/Walking/Mobility – Must be able to stand for long periods of time to play and instruct tennis. Must be able to be run and play with adults and children. Sit – Minimal sitting Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling – Must be able to stoop and kneel for short periods of time. Lifting – Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Fingering/Grasping/Feeling – Must be able to write, type, and use the phone system as well as play tennis.
Environmental Conditions The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Work environment is mainly outdoors, hot with limited indoor time.
