Assistant Head Tennis Professional
Tennis Center in Coppell, TX is looking for a full-time Assistant Head Tennis Professional. Up to $50,000+.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Head Tennis Professional will be expected to serve in several key roles at the Wagon Wheel Tennis Center. Providing leadership in the following key roles include: the coordination of the Tennis Center’s adult lesson programs, lead instructor for the recreational level junior tennis programs, and oversee the coordination and scheduling of adult and junior tennis leagues. Additional job functions will include teaching private and semi-private tennis lessons, group lessons, and team drills on an as needed or as requested basis. Providing internal support to the Tennis Center Manager and Head Tennis Professional by helping to administer current or new programs, support staff development efforts, and provide excellent customer service both on and off court as needed.

Hourly rate depends on qualifications.

Essential Job Functions
• To coordinate and evaluate Adult Lesson Programs offered at the Tennis Center. To enhance or eliminate any gaps in program offerings and creatively program tennis classes and events that are attractive to current and prospective patrons of the Center.
• To serve as the lead tennis instructor for the Tennis Center’s recreational track of the junior tennis training program. Develop lesson plans that are grounded in improvement toward the student’s goals.
• Coordinate junior tennis leagues at the Tennis Center 2 to 3 times a year. Serve as the point person for communication to players, parents and community about opportunities and progress of the programs.
• Assist in teaching private/semi-private group tennis and team drill lessons as needed and/or as requested by Tennis Center patrons.
• Assist in the Tennis Center’s travel team efforts to local tennis tournaments and/or special tennis events.
• Ensure that available supplies and materials are on-hand for the teaching staff to perform on-court at a high level.
• Assist with the stringing and restringing of tennis racquets as needed.
• Provide internal support to the Center staff as needed or required by the Tennis Center Manager and Head Tennis Professional.

Minimum Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree from a four (4) year college or university plus two years of tennis teaching experience, OR a Professional Tennis Management (PTM) degree with two years teaching experience, Or an Associate’s Degree plus four years of tennis teaching experience, OR a high school diploma plus five years of tennis teaching experience. Major course work associated to Kinesiology, Education, Communications is preferred. Preferred Candidate will have extensive tennis playing background up to and including professional tennis competition. Applicants must have or be able to obtain within the first 6 months of employment a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) instructor certification. Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License and have a good driving record.

Employee must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, ability to work with a variety of age groups and an ethnically- and culturally-diverse population, effectively supervise the work of a variety of individuals, establish and maintain effective working relationships within the City, and can deal tactfully with controversial public relations problems and resolve conflict.

Reporting Relationships

The Assistant Head Tennis Professional reports to the Tennis Center Manager and Head Tennis Professional.
