Director of Tennis
Tennis Academy in Mumbai, India is looking for a Director of Tennis. $70,000 salary plus additional income opportunities from privates and events. Includes housing.

Position Overview:
We are pleased to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Tennis.

Job Title: Director of Tennis
Location: Mumbai, India

• Playing Background: The candidate must possess an extensive, high-level playing background, preferably with ATP/WTA tour experience or experience as an elite Division I collegiate player. In exceptional circumstances, this may be waived if a candidate has a proven track record of extensive (10-15 years) and highly successful coaching experience.

• Coaching Background: preferably a minimum of five years of coaching experience working with high-level juniors and/or professional players.

• Coaching Certification: The candidate must be certified or must acquire certification under an internationally recognized coaching organization, such as United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA), Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), or International Tennis Federation (ITF).

• Leadership Skills: The candidate must possess the ability to lead and direct a coaching staff (up to 15 coaches) and administrative staff (up to 3 individuals). This will include, creating and fostering a team environment and maintaining professional connections with fellow associates. The candidate should display strong work ethic, professionalism, integrity, and the overall ability to lead by example.

• Administrative and Organizational Skills: The candidate should possess experience administering and organizing tennis programs for the advancement of juniors and/or collegiate players.

• Communication Skills: The candidate must possess excellent verbal communication skills. This includes the ability to interact with and relate to players of all ages, particularly from the ages of 12 to 18. The candidate should also be comfortable communicating with parents and coaches. The candidate should possess excellent written skills and be able to write up daily training programs, developmental plans, and create overall program structures within the context of Our Teaching Method.

• Integrity, Professionalism and Passion: As the Director of Coaching will be responsible for the development and progress of young aspiring student athletes, he or she must exhibit the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and a passion for teaching. The number one priority is always the safety and well-being of the student athlete.

Key Responsibilities
• Overview: The Director of Tennis will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day tennis operations of the Academy, including management of multiple tennis programs, supervision of administrative and professional coaching, coordinating with academic supervisor to ensure student athletes are maintaining academic standards and demonstration of outstanding leadership skills.

• On-Court Training: The Director of Tennis will actively engage in on-court coaching and managing the operation of tennis clinics. He or she will be responsible for ensuring that Academy players at all times receive outstanding on-court training.

• Our Method: The Director of Tennis must master the principles outlined in Our Teaching Method and must also have the ability and willingness to implement this methodology throughout all aspects of the academy.

• Communication and Interaction with Owner will be in regular (at least weekly) communication with Owner of on all aspects of the Academy to ensure continuity and proper execution of Our Teaching Method.

• Leading and Directing Coaching Staff: The Director of Tennis will be responsible for leading and directing a team of up to fifteen coaches and three administrative staff members.

• Planning and Organizational Skills: The Director of Tennis must possess a high level of planning and organizational skills, and the successful candidate for this position must be able to demonstrate and provide examples of previous experience in this area. The Director of Tennis must have the ability to effectively administer tennis programs for the advancement of junior tennis players and/or collegiate players.

• Communication Skills: The Director of Tennis must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, as he or she will be responsible for interacting with students and parents, leading and directing staff members, and drafting training programs, developmental plans, and other written program materials.

• Travel: The position will require periodic traveling, including travel to major junior tennis events to promote the Academy, observe and coach players, provide on the job training to coaching staff, and perform other job duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:
• The salary for the Director of Tennis will be $70,000.00 (seventy thousand dollars).

• The Director of Tennis will have the opportunity to earn additional income by teaching private lessons or participating in special events.

• The Director of Tennis will be provided with housing.
