Assistant Tennis Director
Club in the Bronx, NY is looking for a full-time Assistant Tennis Director. $100,000/year base salary, plus commission.

Position Overview:
I. EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Candidate must be a passionate and tireless promoter of Programs, with a primary focus on the Junior Development Program and Camps.
2. Experience in running tennis programs. Candidate must possess leadership and communication skill sets. Must be able to prepare and present to staff and large groups of juniors, and love doing so. Must be able to coach and direct staff so as to create a powerhouse team.
3. College education required
4. USPTA Professional 1 certification required.
5. CPR certification required.
6. Must be a 5.0 player with Division I playing experience.

II. SKILLS NEEDED:
1. Must have a practical business sense and be able to sell and run all tennis programs.
2. Must embrace sales accomplishments and goals, and relentlessly and creatively pursue.
3. Must be willing to learn and understand Club’s culture and templates and adhere to such.
4. Must have a thorough knowledge of the teaching and coaching all levels of play and running on court lessons and camps.

III. ATTITUDES TO BE EXHIBITED:
1. Must have a friendly, outgoing personality.
2. Must exhibit enthusiasm for the whole club in general and for the tennis programs specifically.
3. Must have a cooperative attitude toward fellow employees.
4. Must view job in a professional light, as evidenced by selling and running well organized and carefully executed programs.

IV. GOALS:
1. To fill/sell all available spots in junior tennis program and summer camps as a primary goal, and secondarily, private lessons, adult drills, leagues, clinics, socials, tournaments, ladders, etc.
2. To provide the most comprehensive and finest program of tennis activities available in the industry.
3. To work with and help train a staff of teaching professionals that would rate among the finest to be found anywhere in terms of quality instruction and overall professionalism.
4. To maintain all tennis court areas in such fine playing condition, that the club is the envy of all its competitors and the pride of its members.
5. To help attract new club members through the tennis program.
6. To make all club members feel that they are each a valuable asset to the tennis program.

V. DUTIES: 1. To teach 20 junior hours per week in junior program, 34 weeks per year, from 4-8, M-F.
2. To co-head tennis camp, 12 weeks in summer and 4 holiday camp summer.
3. To run adult clinics/match play, for 8 weeks following camp, from 6-8:30, M-TH. (July/August).
4. To act as club’s tennis concierge on Saturdays, from 8-5, for the 34 week junior program.
5. To make 20 to 30+ daily contacts with current clients/members, new clients/members, guests and prospects to make sure that they have been given the information required, sold, and properly placed in programs.
6. To perform evaluations with prospective members wanting to know where they would fit best in club programs.
7. To help deal directly with all member problems and/or complaints related to the tennis program or staff.
8. To help promote and publicize the tennis program, in order to fill all activities and attract new clients and members.
9. To help establish and oversee the procedures outlined in the operations manual for the tennis department.
10. To help write and submit bi-monthly newsletter information relating to the tennis department.
11. To help make certain that court reservation sheets are updated daily with changes and/or corrections in order to minimize scheduling errors such as double bookings, and wasted court hours, etc.
12. To help keep the members informed of all schedule changes or additions through the use of the newsletter, flyers, bulletin boards, signs, phone calls, etc.
13. To help oversee the cleaning and maintenance of all tennis court areas.
14. To work with the other local clubs to schedule inter-club competitions.
15. To serve as MOD (Manager-On-Duty) as scheduled by the general manager and as a substitute when needed.
16. Unspecified duties as assigned by general manager.
17. Meeting schedule: Weekly with Director of Tennis and tennis staff and quarterly with the entire staff; as needed with General Manager.

SUPERVISION: The Assistant Director of Tennis will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Tennis and the General Manager/Sales Director.

QUARTERLY PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS
1. Actual revenues as compared to approved budget projections.
2. Actual activity participation levels and related revenues as compared to approved budget projections.
3. Appearance and performance of all teaching professionals including adherence to all company policies and procedures.
4. Organization, promotion and execution of all club tennis activities.
5. Level of customer satisfaction and handling of customer complaints.
6. Attitude and cooperation with other staff members.
7. After 6-months, teaching hours required for base salary will be reviewed for adjustment based on sales performance.

COMPENSATION, BENEFITS & SCHEDULE: Start Date: August 1, 2018. Compensation: Base Salary- $100,000 per year paid bi-weekly ($3,946.15 per two week pay period). Commission: 1% of all Jr. Program and Tennis Camp Sales, payable with each payroll. This Base Salary provides for a workweek that encompasses 6 days and 54 hours per week, in attendance: 1. 20 hours of JD per week, taught from 4-8 M-F, from September to June. 3. 16 weeks of camp leadership, 12 in summer and 4 during holiday breaks. 4. 8 weeks in July/August, teaching adult clinics and match play, from 6-8:30, M-TH.

SCHEDULE: School Year: 34-Week Junior Program | September to June | Monday-Saturday (Sunday off). Monday-Friday 11:30-8:30 & Saturday 8:00 am-5pm. Summer Camp/Holiday Camps: 12 weeks June to September, and 4 weeks during school breaks. | Monday-Friday, and Sunday. Summer Schedule: Camp, from Mon-Fri 10am-5pm and Adult Clinics Match Play, from 6-8:30pm, M-TH. Sunday: 3:00-7:00pm.
