Head Women’s Tennis Coach
University in Tahlequah, OK is looking for a full-time Head Women’s Tennis Coach.

Position Overview:
University invites applications for the full time position of Head Women’s Tennis Coach. The Head Coach will assume responsibilities for all aspects of an NCAA Division II women’s tennis program. This includes but is not limited to: recruitment of prospective student athletes, student athlete development, match/tournament preparation and strategy, scheduling, purchasing of equipment and supplies, alumni and public relations, fund-raising, some court work, compliance with NCAA and MIAA conference rules, regulations and administrative duties. The head coach will also be responsible for working with the department of athletics and university staff to support the philosophy, goals and mission of both the university and the athletics program.

Education Requirements
Bachelor’s (or professional credentials/experience equivalent) required .
Master’s preferred.

A minimum of two (2) years coaching, or teaching professional, experience is required.
Intercollegiate tennis coaching experience is preferred.
International recruiting experience is preferred.
Experience coaching international student-athletes is preferred.

• Recruiting: responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan to identify, evaluate and recruit high quality student-athletes to University. This includes, but is not limited to phone contacts, in-person evaluations, home visits and the visits of student-athletes to campus. The head coach is responsible for adhering to all NCAA and MIAA rules and regulations regarding recruiting and must maintain accurate records for all recruitment activities.
• Team Preparation: responsible for training, teaching and conditioning student-athletes in preparation for intercollegiate competition. The head coach will plan and supervise practices working with student-athletes on both team and individual skills, prepare match/tournament strategies and coach the team at competitions.
• Student-Athlete Development: responsible for creating an atmosphere and culture that is a reflection of the mission of the University and Athletics Department. A positive experience for the student-athlete both on and off the field is a priority of the Athletics Department. This includes but is not limited to monitoring of academic performance and activities leading to graduation.
• Administrative Responsibilities: Responsible for a wide variety of administrative tasks including but not limited to scheduling of practices and outside competitions, annual reports, recruiting documentation, scheduling of officials and other paperwork needed for NCAA and MIAA compliance.
• Budget and Purchasing: Responsible for administering a budget developed in collaboration with the director of Athletics. This includes but is not limited to purchasing, tracking and care of inventory of equipment/uniforms, supplies and services, monitoring travel expenses of team and coaches and planning student-athletes scholarship awards to stay within budget and NCAA allocation. The head coach is responsible for reconciliation of expenditures for all team travel, recruiting expenses and other related expenses.
• Fund Raising: Responsible for taking an active/lead role in raising private gifts to be used to enhance the budget.
• Compliance responsibilities: to abide by institutional, NCAA, and MIAA policies, rules, and regulations.
