Racquets Shop Manager
Private upscale country club located on Long island, NY, is seeking a manager for their Pro Shop. Competitive salary, full benefits program and 401(k) with match and discretionary contribution.

Responsible for the overall operation of Racquets sports daily operations, including shop sales and buying, scheduling and billing of lessons, clinics, and court time. This is for tennis, squash, paddle tennis, and fitness. This includes general management of the Racquets Shop, overseeing all billing processing, inquiries, errors, corrections and credits, handling the purchasing, receiving, pricing, tagging, merchandising and display of all inventory and supplies as well as the seasonal movement of merchandise. The Racquets Shop Manager also posts tennis court reservations, books lessons and clinic requests, and answers all questions regarding programs, events, rule and regulations, et al.

Qualified candidates will have a working knowledge of merchandising, buying and inventory as well as be detail-oriented, organized, creative and analytical. Candidates must have excellent communication skills (written and oral), be personable and energetic self-starters. Knowledge of Northstar or similar point of sale and accounting software preferred, but not required.

• Manage all scheduling and grid for tournaments for all racquets sports.
• Answer all member inquiries concerning the racquets sports operation.
• Maintain a proper customer service demeanor at all times, both in person and on the telephone.
• Answers all questions regarding programs, events, rules and regulations, et al.
• Scheduling of lessons and court times between professionals, members and guests
• Accurately record and post all member billing for lessons, clinics, tournaments, court fees, sales, and special events.
• Track court usage for racquets committee to provide data for additional courts.
• Promote tournaments and special events through email campaigns, flyers, and direct contact with members.
• Assist in finding cooperative playing partners for players.
• Interacts frequently with the Accounting office regarding billing issues and invoices.
• Ensures an upbeat and safe environment always for the enjoyment of the membership and staff.
• Protects the confidentiality and privacy of the membership.
• Handles all purchasing of merchandise and supplies. Includes the receiving, pricing, tagging, merchandising, display of inventory, and seasonal movement of merchandise.
• Processes all subsequent invoices.
• Coordinates and performs the counting of monthly inventory, makes adjustments and rectifies any errors. Justifies monthly variance reports from Accounting.
• Sending weekly email campaigns to update members about all racquets sports.
• Conduct monthly inventory counts with valuation.
• Attends meeting with sales representatives.
• Keeps abreast of current trends on apparel footwear, and hard goods, with an emphasis on maintaining Club standards and dress code.
• Verify that all outside personal trainers conducting sessions on Club property are properly registered and approved.
• Enforce Club policy regarding dress code, electronics policy, and standard behavior.
• Attend training sessions to learn and implement new technology programs
• Coordinate with Sports Group coordinator and counselors.
• Coordinate racquet stringing between members and professionals and keep accurate records.
• Responds to emergencies quickly and professionally.
• Administer first aid and be up to date on CPR certification.
