Tennis Professional
Facility in Trussville, Alabama is looking for a full-time Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
Under the guidance of the Branch Executive Director, the Tennis Professional will be responsible for supervising tennis clinics, organizing lesson plans for multiple courts, and other daily duties. Provides a quality experience to members and guests focused on Club’s core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

Essential Functions:
1. Promotes and incorporates the Club’s five core values and character development model in to all program activities.
2. Help develop innovative and profitable programming.
3. Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill Club’s objectives.
4. Develops, coaches and directs staff and volunteers as needed. Helps review and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff.
5. Builds relationships with and among members, responds to inquiries and solves problems.
6. Creates a safe and supportive community environment, assists in recruiting and engaging new members, and connects members to the Club’s cause.
7. Works with appropriate branch staff to provide program facilities for members that are clean, safe, adequately equipped, well maintained, and attractive.
8. Builds and develops volunteer capacity, sharing the social responsibility.
9. Assists in Club’s fund raising activities/events, and engages in collaborative relationships with community organizations in order to strengthen support and build community.
10. Follows all Club’s policies, rules, regulations, and procedures, including emergency procedures.
11. Reports all incidents and completes accident reports as necessary.
12. Respond to member questions and concerns and provide feedback about the game as requested.
13. Attends staff meetings and training as required.

Minimum Requirements:
1. At least 3 years of experience as a head-tennis pro with significant knowledge of the sport and/or experience coaching tennis in order to advise participants and coaches.
2. Association Certification-USPTA or USPTR.
3. Knowledgeable of advanced and up-to-date tennis instruction.
4. Ability to read/write and perform basic mathematical computations.
5. Knowledge of court surfaces, equipment and training methods.
6. Administrative skills to include basic budgeting, leadership, reporting, program enhancement with the willingness to improve.
7. Be able to organize groups of people effectively as well as know how to break down a skill and explain it so that participants can understand and perform the skill.
8. Pro must communicate and work with a variety of people including children, staff, school staff, other host staff and community members.
9. Previous experience with diverse populations. Individual must possess maturity, sound judgment, a strong sense of responsibility, and have developed solid human relations skills.
10. Sound organizational skills, as well as good oral and written communications skills and attention to detail are essential elements required to perform the duties of this position.
11. Highly enthusiastic.
12. Possesses and demonstrates a strong understanding of the Club and its purpose, mission and values.
13. Must be available to work evenings as well as weekends.
14. Successful completion of background screening and Child Abuse & Neglect.
15. Acquire and maintain the following certifications via the Club, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI):
1. First Aid/CPR /AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted)
16. Requisite Redwoods Online Training Modules (completed annually).

Physical Demands:
1. Ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, stand for extended period of time, walk, lift, and/or move up to 25 pounds, have finger dexterity grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity.
2. The nature of the environment is one in which the employee may come in contact with outside weather conditions that may include hot/cold temperatures.
