Head Tennis Professional
Country Club in Winchester, Massachusetts is looking for a full-time Head Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
Looking for a experienced Tennis Professional who is good with adult group clinics, junior group clinics and have experience with USTA leagues. Minimum 5.0 level player. Salary and benefits. Please send questions about job after reading below.

Job Summary:
Responsible for teaching, planning, implementing and promoting tennis programs for all age groups, while providing outstanding customer service to the members and guests of the club. Maintain courts in a professional manner and ensure that the environment is safe for all those who use the facility.

Essential Job Functions:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Effectively plans, organizes and conducts tennis lessons for all ages and abilities.
2. Supervises tennis shop attendants, monitors tennis shop operations and merchandising, ensures the appropriate merchandise is stocked.
3. Monitors cash flow in the tennis shop, ensuring that cash and credit card charges balance with sales receipts in accordance with operating procedures.
4. Assists the Director of Tennis with maintaining financial records, compiling monthly/daily revenue reports.
5. Adjusts coaching techniques based on the strengths and weaknesses of the athletes.
6. Effectively instructs individuals or groups in sports rules, game strategies and performance principles such as specific ways of moving the body, hands, and/or feet in order to achieve desired results.
7. Always ensures players receive exemplary customer service and understands the importance of building individual guest contacts.
8. Always keeps abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies and philosophies relevant to tennis.
9. Consistently monitors use of equipment in order to ensure safe and proper use. Always explains proper use of equipment and enforces safety rules and regulations.
10. Arranges and conducts training camps, skill improvement courses and clinics. 11. Selects, acquires, stores and issues equipment and other materials as necessary.
12. Occasionally repairs and restrings tennis equipment.
13. Continually provides input to the Director of Tennis or General Manager on matters that need immediate attention.
14. Performs light to moderate maintenance of tennis courts, such as, operating an electric cart on clay courts, squeegee and sweep asphalt courts, check nets and tie down windscreens, etc.
15. Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations.
16. Attends and actively participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
17. Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.
18. Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Excellent customer service skills.
2. Understanding of the rules and game play of tennis and how to teach others game play and the equipment used.
3. Effective time management and organizational skills.
4. Proficient with common MS Office computer programs and experience with POS systems.

Education and Experience:
1. High School Diploma/ G.E.D required, Associates Degree preferred.
2. Certified by USPTA or USPTR, will accept equivalent of 2 years teaching experience in a school or club in lieu of certification.

Physical Requirements:
Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 50-100%
Standing and walking 50-100%
Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 50-100%
Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, writing and driving 50-100%
Lift in excess of 50 pounds 0-24%
