Director of Racquet Sports
Racquet Club in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is looking for a full-time Director of Racquet Sports.

Position Overview:
This professional should be able to instruct both tennis and paddle at all levels, maintain the facilities which include 9 har-tru tennis courts and 5 paddle courts, supervise staff and communicate all tennis and paddle events to the membership. This position will be responsible for the management of all tennis and paddle related activities and facilities at the Club.

Position Overview:
The Director of Racquet Sports will be responsible for the continued building and promoting of the tennis and paddle programs while energizing and inspiring all ages across a wide range of playing abilities. He/she will be responsible for organizing and providing individual and group lessons, clinics and camps, in addition to supporting and running Club tournaments and other events.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:
4-year college degree preferred. 1-3 years as Director of Racquet Sports or equivalent position with prior supervisory experience preferred. 10-15 years racquet sports experience in competitive play. Minimum 5 years teaching experience. Private country club or tennis club experience a plus. Very good communication skills including oral, written and listening. Ability to motivate, organize and lead others. Membership in either the USTA, APTA or USPTR or similiar organizations desired.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and be innovative in developing new programs to bring about greater involvement in our racquet programs, including the introduction of pickle ball. Enthusiastically encourage member participation by planning activities to promote paddle and tennis. Organize, schedule and manage clinics, social events, tournaments, round robins, etc. At the start of each tennis and paddle season, create and distribute to membership a racquets program calendar that provides equal opportunities and value for both recreational and competitive players. Hire and manage professional staff which will include one or two additional tennis/paddle instructors expected to work year-round as well as seasonal staff as required. Provide individual and group lessons (available weekdays and weekends). Oversee and perform maintenance on the 5 platform tennis courts and 9 Har-Tru tennis courts. Implement and keep up to date with new teaching techniques and receive certification from the APTA, USPTA/PTR and PPTA as necessary. Run the tennis and paddle pro shop and tend to the equipment needs of members. Possess excellent organizational and managerial skills and maintain an accurate record of all lessons and clinics given as well as billing. Participate on all committees related to racquet sports as needed. Must have exceptional communication skills and be willing and able to effectively communicate and interact with Club members both on and off the courts. Adhere to all Club policies and procedures and maintain the highest degree of integrity, honesty and character.
