Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach
University in Seattle, Washington is looking for a Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach.

Position Overview:
The Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach position is responsible for planning and implementing a competitive and well-rounded intercollegiate men’s and women’s tennis program to include the holistic development of the individual student-athletes.

Major Functions: Recruiting (15%), Student-Athlete Instruction and Game Planning (25%), Program development – friend and fundraising (10%), Rules Compliance reporting (10%), Budget management (15%), Scheduling (10%), Travel and Logistics (15%)

Essential Functions:
Provide oversight of all aspects relating to building, developing, and leading a highly competitive Division I men’s and women’s tennis program. Plan, schedule and conduct skill instruction, practices, try-outs and competitions. Use teaching and coaching methods to help players improve their tennis skills. The head coach will also be responsible for all aspects of program budget management including the administration of athletic aid and recruiting expenses.

Foster and maintain a culture within the men’s and women’s tennis program that demonstrates a commitment to NCAA rules compliance.

Interface with the campus and community to promote the University and the men’s and women’s tennis program. In conjunction with the Athletic Development officer and other campus constituents, conduct and/or participate in fund raising activities for men’s and women’s tennis.

Marginal Functions:
Represent the University, Athletics, and the men’s and women’s tennis program in public appearances, including alumni functions, radio, web cast, and/or media interviews, as assigned by the Athletic Director and/or per institutional contractual agreements.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and two years recruiting experience at the four-year level, preferably NCAA Division I OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree with three to five years’ experience in recruiting and scheduling at the NCAA Division I.

Successful candidate will have a knowledge of, and commitment to, NCAA rules and guidelines, and will be required to pass the Coaches Certification Exam, annually.

Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, any athletics conference University may join, and other established bodies that govern or oversee intercollegiate athletics. In the event employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of these organizations’ constitutions, bylaws, rules or regulations may have taken place, employee shall promptly report the same to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Rules Education at the University. Employee shall cooperate fully and completely with any investigation of any alleged violation, whether such investigation is conducted by the University, NCAA or any other duly authorized agency or individual.

The successful candidate possesses the ability to recruit and retain high caliber student-athletes; demonstrates the ability to provide leadership for practice and game strategies; and have proven the ability to communicate constructively with student-athletes. Individual must also have the ability to communicate effectively with staff and faculty, must embody the highest of ethical standards and must demonstrate the willingness to respect the Catholic, Jesuit values of the University.
