Tennis Coordinator
Tennis Facility in Centennial, Colorado is looking for a full-time Tennis Coordinator.

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Athletics Manager, this position is responsible for the District’s community tennis program including, but not limited to, the organization, implementation, instruction and supervision of USTA Community lesson programs, classes, leagues, tournaments, clinics and block time at all District tennis courts and facilities. The Community Tennis Coordinator is responsible for the operation and scheduling of the District’s tennis facilities including the court reservations system and the pro shops at the Tennis Facilities. Develops positive rapport with tennis community and enthusiastically promotes tennis. This position requires working evenings, holidays and weekends as assigned which includes opening and closing at all district tennis facilities, assisting with desk duties, and answering the phone as requested.

Essential Duties:
• Plans and organizes operation of the District’s community tennis program in terms of, but not limited to, programming, fee collection, lessons, leagues, junior/adult tennis, and special events.
• Hire, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate assigned staff and contracted tennis professionals; provide or coordinate staff training, and work with employees to correct deficiencies.
• Responsible for the block time administration, including application process, scheduling, confirmation and fee collection.
• Assist with the development, implementation, and tracking of a marketing strategy; notifying the public of District events.
• Assist with the preparation and monitoring of the budget, manage revenues and expenditures and prepare financial reports. Prepare purchase orders, RFP’s, and invoice requests. Collect and record payments/fees for programs and outstanding balances. Prepare short and long-range revenue/expenditure projections, check revenue streams through POS etc. Develop and recommend program related costs, fees, and locations.
• Responsible for the development of goals and objectives for the District Tennis Program and ensures that these items are met.
• Assist with policy enforcement and procedural manuals; conduct periodic staff meetings to provide and gather information, answer questions and respond to complaints and concerns, both internally and externally. Review program rules with teams and resolve any disputes in a timely manner.
• Follows established cash collecting and cash report procedures, as well as maintaining accurate attendance and revenue records according to established procedures.
• Purchases and maintains accurate inventories for Tennis Pro shop. Accounts for all equipment and materials checked out under his/her direct responsibility.
• Oversees/assists with community league play (USTA Recreational Leagues), assigns staff and makes sure matches and programs are properly supervised.
• Observe necessary precautions to assure general public safety; inspect facilities/grounds for safety and maintenance needs.
• Responsible for creating, entering and editing all District tennis information into the District’s web page.
• Enforces district rules and regulations governing the use of the facilities, its equipment and other property.
• Provides a variety of general information to the public regarding parks and recreation operations and programs; respond to questions and resolve complaints as needed.
• Participates in the evaluation of programs and makes recommendations to the Athletic Manager for improvements.
• With the approval of the Athletic Manager, represents the district in the local division of CTA/USTA.
• Observe necessary precautions to assure general public safety; inspect facilities/grounds for safety and maintenance needs.
• Recognize emergency and dangerous situations by reacting quickly and calmly; administer first aid as needed. Completes Accident/Incident report.
• Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of recreational services.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
• Attend work on a regular, reliable and punctual basis.

Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor Degree in Recreation or related field.
• Minimum experience of two (2) years’ experience in tennis/recreation program management is preferred.
• A combination of experience and education may be considered.

Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
CPR, First Aid and AED certification or the ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.
• Must possess a valid Colorado Driver License or have the ability to obtain upon hire and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Specific knowledge of league coordination and tournament development.
• Must have knowledge of the fundamentals of tennis instruction for beginning level to advanced level player.
• Must possess strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Must have the ability to use a computer and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Point of Sale (POS) system, web-based scheduling, etc.
• Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbally.
• Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Ability to provide outstanding customer service and get along with coworkers, patrons, and supervisors and interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner.

Material and Equipment Used:
To successfully perform the required job duties, this position regularly uses general office equipment and supplies including, but not limited to, computer, Point of Sale system (Registration and Sales), phone, copy machine, fax machine, etc. Tennis equipment including, but not limited to, tennis racquet, tennis ball(s), and tennis ball machine.

Working Environment:
Primarily works in a comfortable office environment subject to continuous interruptions and background noises. During the summer this position works outdoors with exposure to various natural conditions including, but not limited to, hot, wet and/or humid conditions. This position may need to drive personal vehicle to various District facilities.

Physical Requirements:
Stand, walk, handle and operate objects, office and tennis equipment, reach outward and above shoulder and carry, pull, push or lift up to 25 pounds unassisted. May occasionally climb, crawl, squat, kneel and bend. The employee must be able to see close up and at a distance with vision acuity and the ability to adjust focus allowing a broad field of vision. The employee must communicate clearly and effectively, must understand and be understood.

Salary: $43,600 – $54,440 per year
