Junior Tennis Director
Tennis Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky is looking for a full-time Junior Tennis Director.

Position Overview:

General Duties:
Direct the Junior Tennis Department for the Tennis Club; with the goal of providing younger members and guests the opportunity to learn about, improve and enjoy the game of tennis. Work as a collaborative partner with the CEO, General Manager (GM) and Director of Tennis. Reports directly to the Director of Tennis.

Duties include but not limited to:
• Supervise junior Tennis Club tennis play, as directed by the Director of Tennis.
• Provide competent tennis instruction for all junior age groups and levels of play.
• Supervise tennis personnel as assigned, in the performance of their duties.
• Enforce Tennis Club rules and regulations; governing the use of the facility, its equipment and other property.
• Devote a reasonable number of hours to playing tennis with the Tennis Club members regardless of their tennis excellence; such play is not to be considered a paying lesson.
• Enthusiastically encourage participation by planning events to promote tennis, juniors’ tennis, and fellowship at the Tennis Club.
• Prepare junior’s tennis clinics, films, fun playing events or tennis education programs, etc. for such activities.
• Represent Tennis Club at assigned professional tennis activities/events, if applicable.
• Keep regular and posted “office hours”; such that members and staff can communicate and interact with the Junior Director of Tennis.
• Uphold professional appearance when representing the Tennis Club.
• Maintain close working relationships with the Tennis Club professionals.
• Responsible for on-court activities and some administrative tasks, such as player evaluations, inputting practice plans, purchase request forms, completing inventory, etc.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Specific Duties:
A. Programming
• Teach clinics, give private/group lessons.
• Help lead, plan and coordinate junior-related programming or events, as assigned.
• Facilitate any programs, events, or staff training, as assigned.
• Assist with promotion of programs.
• Assist with tournaments as assigned.
• Work with junior players to enhance their tennis experience, and achieve their desired goals.
• Participate in on-court training sessions at the Tennis Club, competitive events or other assigned locations under the direction of the Director of Tennis.
• Assist in organizing the daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly programs at the Tennis Club.
• Facilitate the interaction among junior players at the Tennis Club clinics and programs.
• Work under the guidance of the Director of Tennis in performing daily responsibilities such as assigning players to groups, keeping attendance, etc.
• Work with the Director of Tennis to assist with the implementation of clinics/programs and provide feedback of overall programming.
• Work with junior tennis pros, Tennis Club program staff, and other partners to help junior players maximize their potential.

B. Professional Development
• Maintain member status in USPTA.
• Maintain and expand the relationship between the Tennis Club and the USTA, and other potential tennis organization/community partnerships.
• Participate in tournaments, workshops, and continuing education (20 hours per year).

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum 5 years experience in juniors’ tennis.
• Certified Tennis Professional; by USPTA or PTR.
• Must have a 4.0 or higher NTRP rating.
• Ability to work with and effectively manage relationships with players, their parents, coaches and the tennis community as a whole.
• Team player.
• Relevant health and safety, and first aid training and certification.
• Strong focus and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability in analysis, planning, and coordination; related to tennis instruction and tournaments.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality a must; NDA and Confidentiality Agreement required upon employment.
• Non-Compete Agreement required upon employment.
• Passion for spreading the game of tennis.
• Weekends, nights and holiday availability to work, required.
• U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents only.
• Must be able to pass drug screen and background check.
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
