Director of Tennis & Fitness
Club in West Palm Beach, Florida is looking for a Director of Tennis & Fitness.

Position Overview:
Provides outstanding service to members and guests in a professional and courteous manner. Oversees all aspects of the Tennis, Pickleball, and Fitness facilities and operations, including programming, staffing, training and maintaining the highest level of member satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Prepares annual operating budget and a business plan, as well as a three-year projection. Reviews activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives.
• Reports year-to-date variances as it pertains to the budget on a monthly basis.
• Supervises and coaches subordinate managers and staff to achieve Club and departmental goals.
• Oversees Sports Shop and retail team.
• Manages tennis leagues and Club tournament play.
• Actively seeks opportunities to promote Club tennis, pickleball, and fitness programming to members.
• Ensures proper maintenance and upkeep of the tennis courts, Sports Shop, and Fitness Center are maintained to industry and Club standards.
• Remains current on developments in the tennis and fitness trends and best practices to showcase Club as a leader of positive innovation.
• Ensures compliance with Club policies and procedures, as established in the Employee Handbook, or as demonstrated as common practice.
• Maintains active memberships with various industry organizations. As an ambassador for Ibis, attends and hosts tennis events and exhibitions.

Other Functions:
• Prepares articles and calendar of events for Club newsletter and publications.
• Attends Sports Committee and Executive Committee meetings.
• Performs other duties assigned by General Manager.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Manages two subordinate managers who supervise approximately 25-30 employees in the Tennis and Fitness Departments. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Five years of experience teaching and directing programs at a similarly sized private club or resort.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:
• MS Office
• Chelsea and Jonas Software

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
USPTA Professional Level 1
• Valid drivers license
