Head Tennis Professional
Club in Westwood, Kansas is looking for a full-time Head Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
Under the general direction of the Director of Tennis, this individual is responsible for developing, managing, promoting and implementing new adult and junior tennis programs and coordinating existing and new adult teams for Tencap and USTA. This individual must work diligently to facilitate maximum member satisfaction from these tennis activities, while generating revenue to satisfy established tennis budgetary requirements. Responsible for all aspects of adult and junior programs including but not limited to, development, program content, scheduling, any necessary supplies, staff required for instruction and implementation. This individual must have experience managing employees and must maintain profitable program offerings while working to improve the quality of all adult and junior tennis activities while protecting the security of the Clubs assets and facilities.

Duties/Responsibilities:
• Creates, schedules and promotes existing and new sources of revenue for all adult leagues, tournaments and other related tennis events.
• Consistently reaches out to adult/junior tennis members regarding options for play, coordination of tennis court usage and the promotion of events and leagues.
• Assists Director of Tennis in developing other coaches while teaching in adult and junior programs for the purpose of quality control; coaches on court in all programs as needed.
• Maintains a high profile to promote member interaction in club-sponsored events leagues, mixers and tournaments.
• Develops and promotes all adult and junior programs, tennis clinics and private lessons and creates cross-marketing events between club departments, when possible.
• Performs new member tennis evaluations.
• Maintains continuing education as necessary to keep with the tennis industry standards.
• Supplies Marketing department with tennis-related requests for inclusion in club announcements, website, social media, etc.
• Works closely with other organizations such as: Tencap, USTA, USPTA/PTR and attends meetings when necessary.
• Timely and responsive communications to all participants, members and via email, telephone and face-to-face interactions.
• Maintains and updates contact listing for all adult and junior players.
• Administers and officiates at tennis tournaments, exhibitions and inter- and intra-club events.
• Consistently maintains an accurate record of all lessons and clinics and ensures that all member charges for lessons and/or sessions have been loaded into the POS system.
• Submits bi-weekly reporting of program and/or event status to the Director of Tennis.
• Ensures that all members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all their tennis needs.
• Establishes and enforces club tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts and in tennis areas.
• Maintains clean, organized and visually appealing areas in and around all tennis courts and workspace.
• Complies with Clubs employee handbook manual, departmental policies and procedures and with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
• Participates and fulfills all requirements set forth in the Continuing Education Curriculum (University) Program.
• Completes all other duties as directed/assigned.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience (any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying):
• Bachelors Degree, preferred.
• High School Diploma with USPTA OR PTR certification required.
• Experience as tennis coordinator/director position in a club environment required.
• Minimum of 5-8 years experience teaching tennis.

Skills:
• Fitness-oriented- preferable any standard fitness certifications.
• Tennis skills and performance at extremely competitive level-normally at the 5.0 level.
• Ability to teach complex physical concepts Patience and compassion – ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work with adults/juniors to create a fun learning environment.
• Is SafeSport Certified and is proficient with USTA Net Generation.
• Computer literate- proficient in MS Office and other computer programs.
• Excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and written.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrates creativity, diplomacy.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Attentive to detail.
• Ability to reason and problem solve without precedent.

Knowledge:
• Strong English grammar and writing.
• Teaching techniques related to tennis instruction.

Licenses:
CPR/First Aid/AED certification required within 30 days.
USPTA/PTR Certified.

Special Requirements:
• Valid Drivers License.
• Excellent working relations with peers.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
• Ability to actively participate in tennis lessons and events, required agility and speed in additional to tennis skill.
• Ability to move 20 pounds on a regular basis.
• Visual acuity for computer work and ability to type on keyboard up to 10% of time.
• Ability to communicate verbally.

Working Conditions:
• Time split between tennis courts (both indoor/outdoor) instruction & activities and general office environment, ability to move about the property and community in variety of weather.
• Ability/willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays and any times needed to support business/members as needed.
