Tennis Instructor
Club in Durham, North Carolina is looking for a Tennis Instructor.

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Site Director the Tennis Coach II is responsible for providing lessons to individual students of varying ages and skill sets. They will plan, organize, coach and assist in all aspects of the programs and provide education on the game of tennis, strategies and model good sportsmanship.

Essential Functions:
• Develops lessons for students based upon their age, objectives and individual skillsets.
• Assists students in developing and improving various tennis skills.
• Assess’ students tennis skills to determine areas in need of improvement.
• Develops innovative ways to assist beginner students in learning and remembering the rules of the game.
• Identifies the learning style that works best for each student and adapts coaching methods accordingly.
• Provides a secure and productive learning environment for students.
• Contributes to and supervise the fulfillment of the Club mission.
• Ensure that all programs are safe and maintains the highest safety standards at all times.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions with participants, parents, staff and leadership.
• Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management or related field is preferred.
• Proven experience working as a Tennis Instructor.
• Sound knowledge of various coaching techniques.
• BLS and First Aid certifications to be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Requires a professional, genuine, nurturing, welcoming, courteous and friendly disposition to relate well to members.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Ability to develop harmonious relationships with staff, parents and participants.
• Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively with others.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, including public speaking.
• Multi-lingual desired but not required.
• Must be flexible and have the ability to work weekday, evening, and weekend hours, as required.
