Tennis Manager
Sports Club in Wellesley, Massachusetts is looking for a Tennis Manager.

Position Overview:

If so, Sports Club is looking for Tennis Managers to join our growing team. The Tennis Manager is responsible for growing tennis revenue through the sale of tennis-related products.

More about this role:
The Tennis Manager is responsible for planning and implementing tennis programs which include special events and clinics, leagues, camps, and private training. The Tennis Manager’s major focus is developing the tennis program, increasing the revenue stream, and maintaining excellent customer service to current members while working to build the customer base. The Tennis Manager role achieves success through embodying our core competencies (Create a Sports Club Environment, Build a High Performing Team, Achieve Measurable Results).

Create the Sports Club Environment

Responsibilities include:
• Modeling and promoting our guiding principles through the Clubhouse Rules.
• Reviewing and adhering to all Sports Club documents including but not limited to policies and procedures, employee handbook, state supplement, codes of conduct, etc.
• Performs a Member Experience Walkthrough (MEW) daily.
• Always looking and acting professional.
• Making members and services the top priority.
• Showing enthusiasm for tennis on and off the court.
• Being open and honest with members and employees.
• Increasing active client penetration of the membership base into tennis programs. Offer free evaluation for every new member to increase exposure to the sport.

Build a High Performing Team
Inspires, motivates and develops a team to reach their fullest potential, contributing to the ultimate success of the organization. We constantly improve ourselves, our processes and our procedures to provide a meaningful experience in the gym. We are connected to our members, clients and each other.

Responsibilities include:

• Being attentive to the needs of the business, members, and employees.
• Networking with tennis professionals and coaches in the immediate area to ensure tennis program exposure.

Responsibilities include:
• Taking pride in self and their job.
• Setting daily goals.
• Identifying areas of the business which have room for growth.
• Striving to meet and/or exceed the enrollment and revenue budgets for the tennis programs.

Required Skills and Experience:
• 5+ years teaching experience necessary.
• Prior management or Head Pro experience.
• Must be organized, reliable, able to multi-task, and committed to customer service.
• Experience teaching and coaching all levels of adult and children’s private lessons, team practices, and groups or clinics.
USPTA and/or USPTR certifications recommended.
• Ability to proficiently use our POS and membership system, timekeeping any other computer programs required to meet the business needs of the customer and Sports Club.
• Physical demands include ability to lift up to 20 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations, walk through all areas of the club, climbing stairs (where applicable), and bending and lifting (e.g. picking up towels, restacking weights, moving equipment as needed). The company reserves the right to change them as business needs require and that jobs may require other tasks as assigned to the employee by the company.

Schedule Requirements:
Due to the nature of the business, Sports Club has specific scheduling guidelines for this position.
• Team members are required to work 3 out of the last 4 days of the month, with the last day of the month being mandatory.
• Sports Club does not authorize vacation time in the months of January or September.
• This position does not have a set schedule month-to-month and is subject to changes based on the needs of the business.
• Evening and weekend availability.
• Must be flexible to meet the demands of the tennis program and ensure coverage of all camps and lessons.
• Recruiting tennis pros that have high client retention and coaching pros if they have low retention.
• Additional duties as assigned.
