Head Tennis Professional
Tennis Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana is looking for a full-time Head Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
This supervisor-level position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations at Tennis Courts under the leadership of the Director of Golf and Tennis Operations. The Head Tennis Professional will directly oversee all aspects of the tennis facility management including staff supervision, tennis programming, maintenance of the 10 clay courts, and the Pro Shop.

The Head Tennis Professional will be on site for at least 40 hours per week, with a minimum of 32 hours spent off court duties and a maximum of 20 hours of court teaching. This position requires flexibility in working weekends, evenings and holidays.

To deliver on the mission, the Head Tennis Professional will:

Provide a guest experience of outstanding quality
• Manage facility programming including private and group lessons, hosting tournaments, and court reservations. Competing priorities will require balancing requests such as those from private individuals, the Tennis Club, the contracted Tennis Pros, and school teams.
• Provide lessons and clinics to guests of varying skill levels and abilities.
• Ensure that the Pro Shop is open and staffed each day and that the retail operation is well stocked. This may require working in the Pro Shop personally.
• Uphold Safe Play conduct standards for all activities at the facility.
• Communicate and enforces Tennis policies and procedures.
• String racquets and performs other light equipment repairs.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to racial justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Provide opportunities for recreation in natural settings.
• Overseeing the maintenance of the 10 clay courts including daily brushing, adding clay as necessary, fix court lines, and managing the irrigation system.
• Maintains an attractive appearance in and surrounding the Pro Shop, courts, and parking lot.
• Require safe equipment practices and proper body mechanics of the team.

Operate a financially self-sufficient collection of museums and parks.
• Support the development of the annual budget in coordination with the Director of Golf and Tennis Operations.
• Monitoring monthly expenses to ensure they do not exceed the budgeted amount.
• Follow Facility’s cash handling policy including depositing cash in the vault at the Zoo.
• Run monthly reports for Finance and Pro earnings reports.
• Schedule staff hours and approve payroll.

• Walk individual to destination instead of pointing; offer assistance to people who look confused.
• Assume ownership of potential safety hazards (wipe-up spill, pick up trash). Always have the camera-ready look.

• Ensure work area is free of food, drink, socialization, and personal business.
• Follow Dress Code Policy on clothing and grooming.
• Keep unpleasant concerns behind closed doors (vent backstage).

Supervision: The Tennis Head Pro manages a team of contracted Pros, Groundskeepers, and Pro Shop Attendants. The Tennis Head Pro will promote skill development, interdepartmental cooperation, and excellent customer service.

Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years as a Tennis Professional required.
• Clay court maintenance experience required.
• Staff management experience preferred.

Education:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelors preferred.

Licensure/Certification:
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license required.
USPTA Elite Professional certification required.

Software Requirements:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Ability to navigate point-of-sales systems required.
