Assistant Director of Tennis and Pickleball
Tennis Center in Denver, Colorado is looking for a full-time Assistant Director of Tennis and Pickleball.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Director position is a full-time, year-round employee reporting to the Director of Tennis/Pickleball. His or her primary responsibilities will be a combination of on and off court including: private and group lessons, as well as organization and management of club programs. The Assistant Director must have a team-oriented personality, be flexible, and have great communication skills. The candidate must understand and execute Club branded programs that include USTA progressive red, orange, green, and yellow ball instruction, pickleball instruction, adult instruction and be responsible for customer satisfaction through implementation of student-centered teaching. The position will require evening and weekend availability. Compensation starts at a guaranteed $70,000 annually for candidates with lesser experience and showing a coachable and promising upside. For candidates with extensive management experience, the position could pay up to $95,000 per year, when factoring benefits, bonuses, and opportunities for growth.

We are hiring a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director, who may have previous Director experience at a smaller club, and feels he or she can quickly adapt and will be ready to be considered for a larger role at a larger facility. During the 2022 season, this individual will immediately become part of a 5-person management team running the Tennis Department. The position is available immediately. This position has potential for growth as the management company owns and operates multiple facilities and has had success advancing Assistant Directors into Director roles. Because of the higher energy and volume of Tennis Center, we feel the ideal candidate either has extensive tennis professional teaching experience with management skills demonstrated, or extensive Assistant Director experience at a larger facility or Director experience, perhaps within a smaller facility. As one of the largest and busiest public center in the country, we feel the right candidate will bring management experience, a wealth of tennis knowledge, stellar programming experience, staffing expertise, technology competence, marketing capabilities, and experience in all areas of public facility management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Teaches tennis/pickleball private lessons and group classes – monitors, demonstrates, and instructs students on proper technique, tactics, and strategies to improve their overall tennis game. Pickleball experience is a plus, but not required. Works with the Director of Tennis and Pickleball along with the management team on developing strategies to improve the quality of the club’s junior programs. Organizes and promotes club events, tournaments, camps, and programs. Coordinates with desk staff when necessary to ensure players participating in programs at the club are charged accurately and in a timely manner. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 3+ years of experience instructing tennis and/or 3+ years of experience instructing pickleball preferred but not required. 4.0+ USPTA rating or 8+ UTR. Strong leadership and enthusiasm for the game of tennis/pickleball. Capacity to teach players of all ages and ability. Experience in organizing tournaments, team and league play, clinics, camps and special programs for members of all ages and ability. Strong marketing and organizational skills.
