Tennis Professional
Tennis Facility in Cary, North Carolina is looking for a Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
As a Tennis Professional I you will be assisting other tennis professionals and full-time tennis staff in routine management of programs including camp, clinics, tournaments and special events.

Ideal candidates will be comfortable teaching beginners, intermediates, and advance players, both juniors and adults. Work is performed under regular supervision following regularly established routines subject to more general instructions. Work requires public contact.

This is a year-round, temporary, part-time, non-benefited position, up to 20 hours a week, and with a maximum of 999 hours per year.

Typical Tasks:
Assists senior tennis professionals and full-time tennis staff as required;
Leads or assists other tennis professionals and full-time tennis staff with
camp and clinic instruction;
Encourages and promotes utilization of the Tennis Park;
Manages program and participant evaluations;
Assists with tournaments/special events;
May teach private lessons;
Develop private lesson clientele;
Performs other job-related tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of tennis skills, rules and strategies and some knowledge of other sports; knowledge of modern principles and practices of recreation and physical education; knowledge of business administration and practices in planning and researching programs, clinics and tournaments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town and community officials, employees, media personnel, volunteer groups and the public; ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing; ability to prepare and maintain records; ability to resolve disputes with fairness and impartially.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Requires any combination of teaching and playing experience equivalent to three (3) years of teaching experience.
Requires tennis playing experience at a minimum of high school varsity level.
Prefers four years of varsity college-level playing experience.

Licensing/Certifications:
Prefers USPTA or USPTR certification, USTA rating of 4.0 or higher.
