Director of Racquet Sports
Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina is looking for a Director of Racquet Sports.

Position Overview:
The Director of Racquet Sports is responsible for the daily operation of the Racquet Sports department. Organizing and directing all Racquet Sports activities, events, exhibitions, tournaments and lessons over two campuses at Irving Park and The Farm. The Racquet Sports Director will be a positive professional and autonomous leader who is extremely visible and accessible to the Membership and staff. A hands-on, lead-by-example approach is a must. Duties and responsibilities may be amended from time to time at the discretion of the General Manager/COO.

Job Tasks (Essential Functions):
• Plans and directs instructional programs for Tennis, Pickle Ball and Platform Tennis.
• Provides lessons and clinics for members and guests relating to the techniques and strategies of Racquet Sports.
• Organizes, administers, and officiates at tournaments, exhibitions, and inter- and intra-club social events.
• Administers and enforces club Racquet Sports policies and procedures regarding play on club courts.
• Strings rackets and performs other light equipment repairs.
• Maintains adequate beverage inventory for Racquet Sports department
• Coordinates maintenance, repair, and cleaning of courts with Grounds and Maintenance departments.
• Writes and edits Racquet Sports-related news for the club’s newsletter.
• Selects, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates the Assistant Racquet Sports Professionals and staff.
• Manages the Racquet Sports shop.
• Maintains an accurate inventory control system through Northstar and reports results accordingly.
• Transfers all charges from the Racquet Sports shop to the accounting department.
• Develops the budget for the racquet sports profit center; takes corrective action as necessary to help assure that budget goals are met.
• Ensures that all club members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all their Tennis, Pickle Ball, and Platform Tennis.
• Markets Racquet Sports facilities to members and guests.
• Develops a detailed annual calendar of Racquet Sports activities and applicable promotion campaigns during the calendar year.
• Maintains a close working relationship with other club professionals.
• Maintains accurate records of all lessons and clinics given; provides monthly written reports.
• Inspects and maintains all physical areas constantly.
• Participates on all committees related to the Racquet Sports operations.
• Represents the club in area professional Racquet sports activities and at state or national Racquet sports events with approval from the club.
• Assists Clubhouse Manager, Executive Chef, Banquet and Catering Manager to coordinate food and beverage service support for Racquet sports events.
• Ensures that all employees consistently comply with club’s employee manual and with all applicable federal and state employment laws.
• Is visibly present on the courts during peak periods of play.
• Attends all staff and management meetings.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to control natural swing speed during instruction or matches with inexperienced players.
• Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot and humid outdoor weather for several consecutive hours.
• Continuous standing, walking, running, bending, stooping and repetitive actions.
• Frequent use of light machinery and hand-held tools.
• Frequent lifting and moving of objects.

Experience & Qualifications
The successful individual must possess
• Certification with either U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR).
• USPTA required P1 rating.
• Player ability equal to NCAA Division 1 level
