Director of Racquets
Country Club in West Caldwell, New Jersey is looking for a Director of Racquets.

Position Overview:
As the Director of Racquets, you are responsible for the overall racquets operation at the facility and will report directly to the General Manager. You will be responsible for enhancing the quality of our racquet offerings, ensuring a memorable experience for our members, and fostering a vibrant racquets community within the club. This role requires a dynamic leader who can develop and execute a strategic vision, manage a team of professionals, and elevate the overall racquets experience. This includes the quality of the club’s tennis and pickleball courts, programming, and the security of the club’s assets and facilities.

Finance & Budgeting:
• Work with the General Manager in preparation of the annual Racquet Center operations budget.
• Implement and manage the annual Racquet Center budget as approved.
• Prepare recommended lesson and clinic fee structure.
• Monitor collection of clinic fees, lesson fees, court fees, guest fees, team fees, etc.
• Assure accurate and timely billing to the membership.

Racquets Program:
• Build a “best in class” program of events for women, men, juniors, pro-am, sanctioned tournaments, and regular tennis and pickleball social events.
• Assist in planning the annual calendar of activities, programs, and events for members.
• Collaborate with the golf staff to design and organize clinics throughout the summer season for juniors and children.
• Oversee all league play.
• Ensure the preparation of the facilities and courts for all league matches and practices.
• Oversee scheduling of court time to provide appropriate balance of clinics, open courts for seasonal court usage and private instruction to maximize participation and enjoyment of all members.
• Operate outstanding instructional programs in tennis and pickleball for each major constituency of the membership including women, men, and junior players.
• Ensure accurate completion of member charges and payment for all “program lessons” – (i.e., Team Coaching and special instructional programs)

Communication:
• Coordinate with Marketing Manager to promote all aspects of the program to the membership accurately.
• Provide timely and relevant information and updates for the tennis and racquets for website and ForeTees app.
• Update General Manager as needed about information pertaining to the racquets program or facility
• Be the face of the racquets program and engage with the entire membership
• Treat all members fairly, honestly, uniformly, and with respect

Facility & Grounds:
• Oversee the courts to ensure a first-class playing experience for members and their guests.
• Ensure that all areas of the racquet’s facilities are always neat and clean.
• Inspect the courts/facilities daily prior to the start of play and prior to evening play; and ascertain that all necessary maintenance has been performed.
• Ensure that the necessary equipment for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities is properly maintained.
• Keep the GM informed of the status of the facilities and equipment for the purpose of budgeting for replacement and repair items and oflong-range capital replacement items.
• Grounds are 5 Har-tru courts and 6 pickleball courts

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in racquets program management or a similar role, country club experience preferred, but not required.
• Proven track record ofleading and motivating teams to achieve excellence.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members and staff effectively.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to innovate and adapt to changing member preferences.
• Proficiency in using technology and software relevant to racquet program management.
• In-depth knowledge of various racquet sports such as tennis, pickleball, and paddle, inclusive of rules, techniques, and strategies involved in the sports.

Certifications:
USPTA or PTA Certification
IPTPA or PPA is not required but is a plus
