Tennis Professional
Club in Lexington, Kentucky is looking for a full-time Tennis Professional.
Position Overview:
Genesis Health Clubs is looking for a Full- Time tennis Professional.
The Full-Time Tennis Professional is responsible for delivering high-quality tennis instruction, developing players of all ages and skill levels, and promoting participation in tennis programs. This role includes coaching, program planning, player development, and contributing to the overall success and reputation of the tennis facility or organization.
Key Responsibilities
Coaching & Instruction
Provide individual and group tennis lessons for juniors and adults at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels
Design and implement lesson plans focused on technique, tactics, fitness, and mental skills
Conduct clinics, camps, leagues, and special programs
Adapt coaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities
Player Development
Identify and develop talent through structured training pathways
Prepare competitive players for tournaments and match play
Track player progress and provide feedback to players and parents
Program Management
Assist in planning, organizing, and promoting tennis programs and events
Support league play, tournaments, and social tennis activities
Ensure lessons and programs run on schedule and meet quality standards
Customer Service & Communication
Build strong relationships with members, players, parents, and guests
Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive, professional presence
Communicate program information, schedules, and progress updates clearly
Facility & Operations Support
Ensure courts, equipment, and teaching aids are properly set up and maintained
Follow all safety guidelines and facility policies
Assist with racquet stringing, equipment sales, or front-desk support as needed
Professional Development
Maintain required coaching certifications and continuing education
Stay current with modern coaching techniques and industry best practices
Qualifications
Certification from a recognized tennis governing body (e.g., USPTR, USPTA, LTA, ITF, or equivalent)
Playing or coaching experience at a competitive level
Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, rules, and training principles
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Preferred Skills
Experience coaching juniors and competitive players
Tournament or high-performance coaching background
Sales or program-promotion experience
CPR/AED and First Aid certification
Physical Requirements
Ability to demonstrate tennis skills and drills
Capability to stand, walk, and engage in physical activity for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry tennis equipment
Employment Type

Schedule may include weekends, evenings, and holidays
