Assistant Tennis Professional
Club in Shreveport, Louisiana is looking for an Assistant Tennis Professional.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Full-Time Tennis Teaching Professional to join our team and work closely with our Director of Rackets. The ideal candidate is eager to learn about the tennis industry and has a passion for teaching. Strong playing ability is a plus but not required. Minimum NTRP rating is 4.0. This position is for someone to gain experience and ability to teach players of all ages and skill levels. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow professionally while contributing to the success of our thriving tennis and pickleball programs.
Duties:
Offer private lessons, group clinics, and junior development programs with a focus on player progression and enjoyment.
Lead dynamic youth clinics for Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow ball levels, ensuring a fun and developmental experience.
Assist in organizing and overseeing mixers, round-robins, and tournaments to enhance member engagement.
Actively promote club programs to attract new participants and retain existing members.
Maintain a professional, punctual, and respectful demeanor when interacting with guests.
Collaborate with the Director of Rackets to develop and expand programming.
Requirements:
Playing Ability: Minimum 4.0+ NTRP rating or equivalent competitive experience.
Teaching Experience: 0-3 years of coaching experience, with an interest in junior development and beginner adult instruction in tennis and pickleball.
Certification: USPTA/RSPA, or PTR certification in tennis (or willingness to obtain certification within an agreed timeframe). Safe Play certification is required.
Pickleball: While not required, openness to obtaining pickleball certification is a plus.
Scheduling: Ability to manage your own schedule while maintaining reliability and professionalism.
Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and capable of fostering positive relationships with players of all ages.
