Club in Pikesville, Maryland is looking for an Assistant Tennis Professional.

The Club is seeking a motivated, energetic, and team-oriented Assistant Tennis Professional to join our racquets staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate coach looking to grow within a dynamic club environment while developing both teaching and operational skills.

The Club offers one of the premier racquets facilities in the region, featuring:
4 indoor Har-Tru tennis courts
15 outdoor Har-Tru tennis courts
1 outdoor hard tennis court
6 outdoor pickleball courts
2 platform tennis courts
Our active and engaged membership provides a vibrant environment for teaching, programming, and professional growth.

Position Overview

The Assistant Tennis Professional will support all aspects of the racquets program, including instruction, court maintenance, and pro shop operations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide private and group tennis instruction to members of all ages and skill levels
Assist with clinics, events, and club programming
Learn and perform court maintenance duties, including:
Two weekly maintenance shifts (approximately 3 hours each)
Work in the pro shop, including:
Two weekly shifts (5–8 hours each)
Retail sales, member service, and daily operations
Racquet stringing (additional earning opportunity)

Additional Earning Opportunities

Private and group tennis lessons
Pickleball instruction
Platform tennis instruction
Racquet stringing services

Compensation benefits include:

Reduced indoor court fees for teaching during the indoor season
No percentage taken by the club on lessons given to members during the outdoor season
Hourly rate for hours doing maintenance or working on the pro-shop

Qualifications

Previous coaching or playing experience required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn court maintenance and pro shop operations
Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
Must be available to work nights and weekends
