High Performance Tennis Coach
Sports Club in Woodinville, Washington is looking for a full-time High Performance Tennis Coach.

Position Overview:
Annual total compensation: $90,000–$110,000+ DOE per position, combining salary, hourly coaching pay, and commissions

About Tier 1

Tier 1 Performance is a Pacific Northwest tennis program with a nationally recognized junior development pathway, from a player’s first red-ball sessions through high-performance training, national competition, and college tennis. Tier 1 players have earned 17 USTA Gold Balls, and our development system has helped athletes progress to collegiate programs across the country. The pathway connects Tier 1 Core, Foundations, Junior Academy Prep, Junior Academy, and After-School Academy, with the Full-Time Academy at Woodinville for players pursuing collegiate and professional tennis. Training combines technical, tactical, physical, and mental development through individual plans, clear progression standards, and regular assessments. Players advance based on readiness and commitment, with coaches guiding training, competition, and the next stage of development. For a coach, that means joining a connected program where early fundamentals, daily training habits, and long-term player outcomes are part of the same job.

The role

Tier 1 Performance is hiring full-time high performance tennis coaches at Woodinville Sports Club and Beaverton Sports Club. We have one opening at each location.

You will lead Tier 1 academy groups, carry a private-lesson and player-management book, write development plans for the athletes you manage, travel to tournaments, and own the parent relationships for your players.

At Woodinville, you will coach across the Tier 1 pathway, from red ball through our full-time academy athletes, and take ownership of a book of college-track players. The pathway, curriculum, assessment cycles, and competitive calendar already exist, along with a full roster of athletes moving through them.

At Beaverton, you will help grow our junior development program. This is a build role: you will help grow the groups, culture, competitive calendar, and pipeline of athletes working toward college tennis.

You will report to the Director of Tennis at your location and work from the same Tier 1 methodology, with access to our directors and senior coaches across both campuses.

Above everything else, we are looking for coaches who are passionate about junior development. Our athletes stay with us for years. We want coaches who think in those timelines, value every stage of development, and want to grow with a staff that shares athletes, supports each other, and takes feedback.

What you will do

- Plan and independently lead academy groups across red, orange, green, and yellow ball through high-performance training and, at Woodinville, full-time academy training – Coach from the Tier 1 methodology, with purposeful training in technique, tactics, physical preparation, competitive habits, and accountability – Write individual development plans, run player assessments, and move athletes through the pathway as they meet its standards – Carry a private-lesson and player-management book, supporting adult clinics and lessons as needed – Travel to tournaments as planned with the Director of Tennis, including match preparation, on-site coaching, and post-match review – Communicate proactively and professionally with parents about placement, progress, effort, and realistic timelines – Contribute to evaluations, group formation, coach meetings, and the development of fellow coaches – At Beaverton, help with school and university relationships, open houses, and clinic days as the program grows

What we are looking for

- Three or more years coaching junior tennis, including independent responsibility for competitive groups – Meaningful competitive playing experience at the collegiate, professional, or high-level national junior level – Player-development results you can explain, such as progression between levels, improved UTR, varsity placement, or college commitments – Ability and willingness to coach the full junior pathway – Clear communication, reliability, a team-first approach, and a willingness to learn our system – Availability for weekday afternoons and evenings, weekends, school-break camps, and tournament travel; the Woodinville role also includes early mornings – Authorization to work in the U.S.; a valid driver’s license is required for the Beaverton role

PTR, USPTA/RSPA, or GPTCA certification, structured-academy experience, and familiarity with USTA, UTR, ITF junior events, and college recruiting are valued.

Schedule and location details

Woodinville: Expect an average of 25–28 group hours and 10–15 private lessons per week, plus meetings and planning. Tournament assignments are coordinated with the Director of Tennis. Benefits include reimbursement for coaching certification and renewal, and full Woodinville club access, including courts, the main gym, Athletic Performance Lab, and studio programming.
