Head Men’s Tennis Coach
College in Wooster, Ohio is looking for a Head Men’s Tennis Coach.

Position Overview:
The Head Men’s Tennis Coach, oversees all aspects of the NCAA D-III Men’s Tennis program, ensuring compliance with NCAA, NCAC, and College policies. Responsibilities include coaching, recruiting, managing budgets, and fostering alumni connections. This 10-month position includes morning, evening, and weekend duties and may involve teaching in the Physical Education minor. Additional assignments in committee work and administration may be assigned.

Essential Departmental Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plans, develops, and directs all team training and conditioning activities (with the support of strength and conditioning staff) and contest schedule at a level that will maintain the Men’s Tennis program’s position of competitive leadership in the North Coast Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III.
• Recruits academically and athletically strong applicants for the selective and competitive applicant pool at The College of Wooster in partnership with the Office of Advancement.
• Manages administrative tasks like budgeting, purchasing, and travel arrangements.
• Develops and maintains a strong alumnus and parent support system and work with the Office of Advancement in the area of fundraising.
• Maintains team statistical records and establishes a strong social media platform in partnership with the Office of Athletic Communications,
• Stays updated on coaching best practices.
• Supports student-athlete welfare with athletic trainers.
• Coordinates with Aspen Racquet Club for scheduling of indoor practice and competition space.
• Collaborates with College of Wooster Women’s Tennis program.
• Participates in the NCAC governance for Tennis at coaches meetings.
• All coaches may be assigned additional duties in the area of teaching, committee work and administrative duties. These responsibilities are determined annually by the Chair of Physical Education and Director (Associate Director) of Athletics and Physical Education.
• Serves as an active member of the athletic department’s team, which provides leadership, goals, and program implementation to our nearly 2,000 undergraduate students.
• Cultivates collaborative relationships across campus.
• Participates in committees and initiatives.
• Develops meaningful connections with students, staff and faculty by being available and visible on campus.
• Engages team members in community service activities.
• Demonstrates a commitment to and compliance with the College’s and Department of Athletics and Physical Education policies and procedures as well as the NCAC and NCAA constitutions, bylaws, legislation, and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Three to five years related experience highlighting a successful record of coaching and recruiting at the intercollegiate level.
• Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines governing the recruitment and retention of student-athletes.
• CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification is required (and can be completed after hire).
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• The ability to obtain College driver certification is desirable.
