Assistant Racquets Professional
Country Club in Lake Wylie, South Carolina is looking for an Assistant Racquets Professional.

Position Summary

The Assistant Racquet Professional reports directly to the Director of Racquets and plays a key role in supporting the growth and success of all racquet sports programs at the Country Club. This individual must be a team player with strong leadership abilities, a professional demeanor, and a high standard of personal conduct. A polished appearance, integrity, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional service to members and guests are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides high-quality tennis and pickleball instruction for players of all levels through private lessons, clinics, and group sessions.

2. Leads and organizes the Club’s junior development program, including clinics, camps, and events.

3. Assists the Director of Racquets in developing and implementing new programs, leagues, and special events to enhance member engagement.

4. Supports and/or leads team practices and camps depending on participation levels.

5. Assists with daily pro shop operations, including member service, scheduling, and retail sales.

6. Responsible for racquet stringing and minor equipment repairs in a timely and professional manner.

7. Assists with court and grounds maintenance as needed (primary court maintenance handled by the racquets maintenance team).

8. Supports the Director of Racquets in planning and executing tournaments, socials, and other racquet events.

9. Provides additional assistance to the Director of Racquets as needed to ensure the continued growth and excellence of the racquets program.

10. Adheres to all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Supervisory Responsibilities

· May be responsible for training and mentoring support staff, assisting with work planning and execution, and addressing member service issues as needed.

· Assumes leadership of the racquets department in the absence of the Director of Racquets.

Qualifications

· Must be a USTA 4.5–5.0 level player or higher.

· Certification by a recognized organization such as USPTA or PTR (tennis) and PPR or IPTPA (pickleball) is required.

o If not currently certified, certification must be obtained within one year of hire.

· Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience or ten (10) years of playing experience.

· College-level playing experience strongly preferred.

· Excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and a commitment to growing racquet sports.

· Strong organizational skills, punctuality, and attention to detail.

· Must be comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
