Position Overview:
Year-Round Tennis Instructor Opportunities

Calling all athletes, tennis enthusiasts, and individuals interested in year-round tennis programming! The Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking team-oriented, creative, and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working with youth and adults to create quality tennis experiences in the Beaverton area.

This is a great opportunity for individuals looking to build their leadership and coaching skills while delivering engaging, skill-based tennis instruction throughout the year. Many of our instructors return each season, contributing to a positive and dynamic environment.

Current Openings: Year-Round Tennis Instructors (Instructor 2, 3 & 4)

These instructor roles focus on leading lessons, group games, and athletic activities for youth and adult participants. Schedules may include daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Part-time employees work fewer than 1,560 hours annually.

Tentative Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with opportunities for daytime and weekend shifts

Instructor 2

Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age.
Pay Rate Range: $20.68 – $23.30 hourly (based on experience)
Instructor 3

Experience: 2–4+ years of teaching experience
Pay Rate Range: $22.82 – $25.69 hourly (based on experience)

Instructor 4

Requirements: Either RSPA Certification or Professional Tennis Registry (PTR)
Experience: 2–4+ years of teaching experience
Pay Rate Range: $32.11 – $36.14 hourly (based on experience)

Minimum Requirements:

Must be at least 16 years old to apply
Enjoy working with kids, teens, and/or adults
Comfort and ability to work outdoors, rain or shine
For Instructor 4: Either RSPA or PTR certification required
Current First Aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Job Classification Status:

Part-Time Variable (PT): Work an average of fewer than 20 hours per week, with less than 1,560 hours annually
Part-Time Benefits Eligible (PTB): Work an average of 20 to 29 hours per week year-round and qualify for benefits enrollment
