General Manager
Club in Alpharetta, Georgia is looking for a General Manager.
Position Overview:
The Club is seeking a General Manager for Racket Social Club.
The Club at Windward is a premier lakeside destination featuring top-tier amenities, including 4 padel courts, 6 pickleball courts, 18 tennis courts, 2 platform courts, 4 swimming pools, and a full-service marina. We’re seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead operations, elevate the member experience, and drive continued growth across all areas of the club.
General Purpose:
Responsible for directing and overseeing all aspects of the club or facility, including activities and relationships among members, guests, associates, and the broader community. Ensures maximum member and guest satisfaction while achieving strong financial performance. Serves as the leader for all departments, with expertise in operations, amenities management, membership engagement, and sales.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Devotes the majority of each day to management and supervisory duties.
Prepares, monitors, and manages the annual budget, revenue goals, and departmental expenses. Generates weekly and monthly forecasts and plans accordingly.
Reviews and analyzes financial reports and performance data across all departments; implements corrective actions as needed.
Monitors market conditions impacting business volume and profitability.
Research vendor opportunities, negotiates pricing and services, and maintain beneficial vendor relationships.
Oversee all aspects of staffing, including interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addresses and resolves associate concerns.
Ensure consistent and reliable attendance and presence on-site.
Reviews financial statements daily, weekly, and monthly, taking proactive steps to maintain fiscal health.
Establishes and maintains personnel policies, training programs, and professional development initiatives.
Creates and implements a robust club calendar that enhances the member and guest experience.
Directs the membership department, including membership drives, promotions, tours, and achieving sales goals.
Ensure all Human Resources policies and procedures are consistently followed by management staff.
Develop and maintains a strong organizational plan, recommending improvements where needed.
Oversees maintenance and care of all physical facilities and assets.
Coordinates marketing initiatives to promote club programs, amenities, and services.
Implements and enforces company policies and procedures across all departments, ensuring adherence to quality and service standards.
Directly manages department heads, which may include Facilities, Membership, Food & Beverage, Aquatics, and Racquet Sports.
Ensure all new associates receive effective orientation and ongoing training.
Maintains a visible leadership presence at the club and designates a point of contact when away.
Leads with positivity and a growth mindset, continually striving to improve programs, operations, customer service, and staff development.
Provides consistent supervision, feedback, and performance coaching for staff.
Ensure the CDM/Racket Social Essential Programming Guide is fully activated and executed at the club.
Maintains a complete understanding of all revenue sources within the tennis program; ensures accurate POS entry and daily reconciliation.
Understands all club charging, reporting, and accounting procedures.
Completes all required items on the GM checklist accurately and on time, including reports, orders, and operational submissions.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (BA) preferred; or five to ten years of relevant management experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience managing multi-amenity or multi-course facilities is strongly preferred.
Experience in Racquet and Swim operations.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. Must use hands and arms to handle, reach, and operate objects; must also communicate effectively. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment and Noise Level.
Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is generally moderate.
