Head Racquets Professional
Club in Durham, North Carolina is looking for a Head Racquets Professional.

Position Overview:
To teach private lessons & group clinics, string racquets as required, and to supervise in the absence of the Director (as the “Manager on Duty”).

Mission Statement
The mission of Croasdaile Tennis is to offer a comprehensive program that is responsive to the needs of the membership, including a consistent level of service that meets or exceeds expectations

Teach lessons as requested by the Director.

● As the “Assistant Director” you will, supervise and be accountable for all work that is to be performed by all part-time employees including but not limited to maintenance duties outlined below.
● Assist with the staffing of the Pro Shop front desk, if requested, along with daily court maintenance.

Teaching/Instructional Program

● Manage the Men’s Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
○ Ensure accurate completion of member charges and payment for all Men’s Program
lessons, intra-club leagues, special events, tournaments and social events
○ Planning, executing and managing a Men’s League Program
○ Planning a Men’s calendar of events each year in consultation with the Director

● Work with the Director in planning and coordinating all instructional programs, lesson plans and
new programs.
● Teach lessons, clinics and team practice sessions for members and children.
Member Events & Programs
● Plan and direct PB and Tennis member tournaments, mixers and other special events
● Establish a calendar of events for each year to include all men’s events and all PB events.

League Play
● Assist members in identifying and joining teams for league play. If needed, Inform director of any
members requesting information on league teams or joining new teams.
● Watch members participate in league play in order to provide specific feedback and advice during
team practices and clinics.
● Assist in preparation and coaching of fall and spring JTT – Croasdaile currently has 6 teams.

Pro Shop
● String racquets as requested and so that all racquets are strung within the club’s “48 Hour” restringing policy.
● Introduction to members of new racquets, including use and presentation of Demo racquets during lessons and practices.
● Help maintaining the shop as requested by the Director.

Maintenance
● Assist in mid-day maintenance along with opening one day a week, unless facility manager is unavailable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
○ Rolling, lining and sweeping the lines of all clay courts
○ Assist in resurfacing the 4 clay courts and obtain knowledge on putting down material as needed
○ Changing water coolers as needed.
○ Assuring that hard courts, walkways and patio are clear of debris, dirt, pollen, etc.

Education
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum Certification Level
RSPA Certification – Professional Level (or willing to acquire)
USTA Safe Play

Other
2+ years teaching
NTRP level 4.5 or higher
Salary: $40,000 base. Projected range : $70,000-$80.000 per year.
