Position Overview:
Job Title: Head Tennis Coach

Location: Homeland Racquet Club at the Suburban Club – Pikesville MD

Position Type: Contract (April – October, with potential for year-round work)

Salary: $15,000 (contract fee) + 100% of private lesson earnings at $80/hour + Additional revenue from racquet stringing

Our club boasts 10 outdoor Har-Tru courts and is dedicated to fostering a passionate tennis community. As we continue to grow, we’re seeking an experienced, motivated, and knowledgeable Head Tennis Coach to join our team and help us take our programs to new heights.

Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and passionate Head Tennis Coach to help lead our tennis programs, provide top-notch coaching, and manage player development at our facility. The position is a contract role beginning in April and concluding at the end of October, with the potential for expansion into year-round coaching if indoor court access is secured. The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching all levels of tennis players, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of the game.

Key Responsibilities:

Working with the General Manager/Director of Tennis, lead tennis lessons, group classes, and programs for club members of all skill levels.
Develop, implement, and evaluate training programs to maximize player development.
Organize and supervise tennis events, tournaments, and social play.
Manage the scheduling and organization of private lessons.
Provide ongoing mentorship and guidance for assistant coaches and players.
Help maintain high standards of facility usage, cleanliness, and overall club culture.
Option to provide racquet stringing services for additional revenue ($1,000/month potential).
Potential to help grow the club’s off-season offerings through winter access to indoor tennis facilities.
Pro shop attending during non-coaching hours
Daily, weekly, and monthly har-tru maintenance

Qualifications:

Strong background in competitive tennis coaching, including experience with all age groups and skill levels.
Experience with Har-Tru court maintenance is preferred.
Knowledge of tennis coaching techniques, player development, and fitness.
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work well with both players and fellow staff members.
Self-starter who can work independently and is highly motivated to grow the tennis programs.

Compensation:

$15,000 for the contract period (April – October).
100% of private lessons. Rate of $80 per hour or commiserate with experience.
Opportunity to earn an additional $1,000/month through racquet stringing services.
Possibility of securing access to indoor tennis facilities for winter months, potentially extending coaching opportunities year-round.
