Head Tennis Professional
Club in East Norwalk, Connecticut is looking for a full-time Head Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
Reports to: Racquets Director

As a Head Tennis Professional, you’ll play a pivotal role in fostering a dynamic tennis community. You’ll lead lessons, clinics, and programs for juniors and adults, help organize exciting tournaments and events, and mentor assistant tennis professionals. Whether you’re hitting the courts for a Pro-Am, re-stringing rackets, or creating engaging content for our tennis newsletter, your passion for the sport and dedication to excellence will shine.

What You’ll Be Doing:
• Provide Exceptional Coaching: Lead private and group lessons tailored to juniors and adults, focusing on improving technique, strategy, and love for the game.
• Create Memorable Events: Plan and execute tournaments, exhibitions, Pro-Am matches, and inter-club competitions that energize our tennis community and draw members together.
• Develop Junior Talent: Lead junior development programs designed to nurture young athletes, build their confidence, and inspire a lifelong passion for tennis.
• Be a Mentor: Help train and supervise assistant tennis professionals, ensuring they deliver the same high level of coaching and service that our members expect.
• Promote the Program: Collaborate with the Racquets Director to market our tennis programs, write engaging content for the weekly tennis newsletter, and create buzz around upcoming events.
• Maintain Excellence: Oversee the care and upkeep of courts and equipment, including re-stringing, re-gripping, and performing light repairs, ensuring everything is in top condition.
• Bring the Fun: Foster a welcoming and inclusive tennis community where members of all levels feel supported, challenged, and inspired to play their best.
• Plan the Season: Work with the Racquets Director to develop a dynamic calendar of tennis activities and events that keep our members engaged throughout the season.
• Ensure Safety and Readiness: Be prepared to manage emergency situations effectively while creating a safe environment for players.

What We’re Looking For:
• Undergraduate Degree major in Physical Education or Sports Management preferred.
• Collegiate tennis team experience
• Two-to-three-year teaching experience
• Experience running junior development programs.
• Certification with either U.S. Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) or Professional Tennis Registry
• USPTA or PTR P1 rating preferred
• Player ability equal to NCAA Division 2 level or higher

Physical Demands and Work Environment
• Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot and humid outdoor weather for several consecutive hours.
• Continuous standing, walking, running, bending, stooping, and repetitive actions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent use of light machinery and hand-held tools.
