Tennis facility in Carmel, California is looking for a Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
PBI and CDT are actively searching for a talented racquet sports professional (tennis and pickleball) to join our team at beautiful Carmel Valley Ranch, California. Nestled in the Santa Lucia mountains alongside the Carmel River, Carmel Valley Ranch is a breathtaking, boutique resort featuring 7 tennis and 4 pickleball courts catering to both resort guests and an active local membership. The former home club of Tennis legend and PBI founder Peter Burwash, Carmel Valley Ranch has a rich history of world class tennis instruction and programming. Carmel Valley Ranch hosts a variety of league teams, custom tennis and pickleball experiences, intense Doubles Bootcamps and corporate group events as well as private and group instruction and junior programming.

Pay range: $16.50 – $17.00 per hour for off-court work, $50.00 per hour of on-court instruction.

Position Summary:
Provide the ultimate racquet sports experience by providing the highest quality tennis and pickleball instruction and customer service. Teaches various tennis and pickleball programs including junior programs, adult programs, junior and adult private lessons and special events.

Essential Duties:
• Provides beginning through advanced instruction (private and group) for all levels of players.
• Assists in the promotion of and conducting tennis clinics, private lessons, special events and programs to attract and maintain members’/guests’ tennis interests.
• Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive tennis lessons and programs to ensure students develop along a pathway that will encourage continued involvement in tennis.
• Assists in supervising play and ensure proper charging of fees.
• Ensure students understand tennis rules, scoring procedures, safety rules and tennis etiquette.
• Enforces all club rules and regulations governing the use of the club/facility, its equipment and other property.
• Performs racquet stringing.
• Quickly and efficiently responds to member/guest questions, comments, and concerns.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Demonstrate positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity and professionalism.
• Performs other duties as required.

Education/Experience:
• Minimum 1-year experience required.

Physical Demands:
• Frequently stands, walks, uses hands, talks, hears, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Occasionally sits.
• Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:
• Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions.
• Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the staff may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment used are in English).
• Skill level equivalent to a minimum 4.0 USTA rating.
• Safe Play certified.

Compensation:
• $50 per hour of on-court instruction.
• $17 per hour for off-court work.
