Head Tennis Professional
Club in Vail, Colorado is looking for a Head Tennis Professional.

Position Overview:
Directly Reports To: Director of Racquets
Supervises: Pro Shop Staff and Court Attendants

Arrowhead is a private, luxury and on-mountain residential community located in the Vail Valley just outside Vail, Colorado. Boasting four Har-Tru clay courts and eight pickleball courts, Arrowhead is renowned for its high quality racquets programming.

Arrowhead offers reciprocal membership to two of the leading Colorado clubs: Country Club of The Rockies and The Alpine Club, both located on the Arrowhead property.

The general role and responsibilities of the Head Tennis Professional will be to deliver a range of services, customarily provided by an experienced RSPA/PTR professionals. These services should include in order of importance, but not limited to:

• Taking a leadership role in the management and on-court instruction of the tennis programming and racquets experience.
• Availability and visibility to the Arrowhead residents and reciprocal membership.
• Help and assist the Director of Racquets to create and implement a comprehensive tennis and club social program.
• Communicate, promote and market effectively tennis and racquets programming.
• Support the Director of Racquets to help organize, schedule and manage round-robins and all other social events.
• Manage on-court and point of sale software (Play By Point) on a daily and hourly basis to maintain accurate records of all group and private lessons and application of guest fees.
• Develop and implement a teaching program that adopts teaching and instructional philosophies that are consistent with current teaching changes and ideas.
• Provide and appropriate amount of private and group lessons to both adults and children, and oversee all assistant professionals and court staff.
• Allocate courts for private and group instruction and for open reservation play of singles and doubles.
• Responsible for daily routine court maintenance and assisting court attendants and other staff members to provide water, ice, and all
• Stringing of residents and their guests racquets and provide regripping and other racquet and off-court services.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and off-court surrounding property and area.
• Enforce all Arrowhead rules and regulations, guest usage and fees, and see to proper use of the facilities, equipment, dress code and sportsmanship as per Arrowhead and Beyond The Baselines employee handbook.
Candidate Qualifications
• RSPA or PTR Certification is a plus.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience as a tennis professional at a similar club or hospitality-based property.
• Proven track record of excellence in tennis/racquets instruction, social and tennis programming, time management and operational management.
• Successful experience in developing, planning, and implementing both junior and adult comprehensive tennis programs.
• Experience with tennis and club related software and point of sale systems.
• CPR/AED certified (or willingness to get certified)
• Strong working knowledge of court maintenance, specifically with sub-surface irrigation of Har-Tru clay tennis courts.
• Excellent business and people management skill required through strong communications, both written and vera, with the ability to interact effectively with several different audiences in a wide range of situations.

Selection Criteria

• Breadth and depth of experience as a tennis professional in line with the vision and culture of Arrowhead and Beyond The Baselines.
• Degree of similar experience at an elite private club or similar setting or facility.
• Demonstration of technical competence.
